Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a popular short trekking option in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Poon Hill Trekking is suitable for individuals of every age group. It starts from Nayapul near Pokhara, taking you through picturesque villages, lush forests, and rhododendron forests. Likewise, the trek offers spectacular mountain views, diverse & rich cultural experience along with a sense of adventure. Well, the major highlight of the trek is the sunrise view from Poon Hill (3,210 m), a small hilltop that offers panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. However, the route to Poon Hill Trek is less established than Annapurna Base Camp. You still can find some tea houses and lodges on the way.
More than that trekkers can experience the stunning scenery of the Annapurna region, including snow-capped peaks, rolling hills, and dense forests. Talking about the villages, they are filled with ethnic groups such as Gurungs,Tamangs and Thakalis. The perk of this place is that these people offer you delicious local cuisine along with a hearty welcome.

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan international airport one of our airport representatives will be waiting outside the airport arrival with your name on a board. We will take you to the hotel in a private vehicle. Then we will have a short pre-trip meeting and help you prepare for trekking in the mountains.
This day early morning after your breakfast in the hotel we will start our road trip towards a beautiful city in Nepal, Pokhara. During a drive for 5-6 hours for around 200 km, you will experience a beautiful changing landscape also flowing of Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers. Rafting in the Trishuli River is a popular adventure activity in Nepal and you may also witness the fearless rafters in the white water. We will also stop for lunch in between before we head towards Pokhara. After we check in to the hotel there is a time for you to explore the lakeside market to shop for souvenirs, handicrafts, clothing, and jewellery.
After our breakfast, we will take a short drive to Nayapul in a comfortable vehicle. The drive typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Nayapul serves as a starting point for treks. We will start our hiking from Nayapul now. Firstly, We will pass through the bustling town of Birethanti, which is a gateway to the Annapurna Conservation Area and gently walk towards Tikhedhunga. It takes around 4 to 5 hours to reach our overnight lodge at Tikhedhunga.
Starting our day quite early today with breakfast and quickly moving to Crossing the suspension bridge near TikheDhunga. Let's brace ourselves for a challenging yet rewarding section of our trek as we begin with a steep ascent of around 3,000 stone steps to reach Ulleri Village. The trail takes us through beautiful rhododendron forests, and terraced fields, passing through small settlements of Banthanti and Nangethanti villages. After a walk for around 5 to 6 hrs, we will reach Ghorepani where we will spend a night. Ghorepani is a charming village situated at an elevation of around 2,850 metres (9,350 feet). We can enjoy stunning views of Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna I (8,091 metres / 26,545 feet), Dhaulagiri (8,167 metres / 26,795 feet), and also Hiunchuli (6,441 metres / 21,132 feet).
Today is the best section of our whole trek so we need to wake up before dawn and hike for about an hour to reach Poon Hill (3210m) in time for the sunrise over the Himalayas. From Poonhill the panoramic view includes Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, Tukuche Peak, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Annapurna I, II, III, Annapurna South and many more. Once the sun has risen spectacularly over the snow-covered mountains we return to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast. We will continue a gradual downhill hike through the stone-paved trail. The trail initially takes us through dense rhododendron forests, a popular Deurali pass and a Gurung and Magar settlement. Then 5 to 6 hrs into the trek ends overnight at Tadapani.
Enjoying our breakfast at different landscapes than the other days and descending through a lush forested area. This trail also passes through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. Today is the easiest trek giving us plenty of time to explore the Ghandruk village and visit the local museum. Ghandruk is famous for its rich culture, traditional houses, and warm hospitality and provides the best traditional Nepali cuisine.
On the final leg of our trek,we enjoy the breakfast of the mountain to the fullest before we start a short hike to Nayapul. The trail passes through terraced fields, and charming villages, and occasionally offers glimpses of the surrounding mountains which were with us throughout the trek. We will see our vehicle waiting for us at Nayapul to drive us to Pokhara. Once we check in to the hotel in Pokhara then you can celebrate your successful trekking adventure Relax by the lakeside, indulge in good food, and reflect on the memories you've created during our time in the mountains.
It's the day we will be leaving the mountains behind and returning back to Kathmandu after our early breakfast in a comfortable tourist vehicle. In the evening, we will organise a farewell cultural dinner where your guide and one of the company representatives will accompany you.
Here we end our Ghorepani Poonhill trek. Our airport representative will drop you at the international airport in Kathmandu for your flight departure from Nepal.

The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is considered a moderate trek and is suitable for beginners with a reasonable level of fitness. The trek involves walking for 5-6 hours a day on a well-defined trail with some steep uphill and downhill sections.

For your convienence, we use tourist vehicles for city visits, touring and pick ups.
You need to carry USD 15-20 per day. With this you can buy the items of your choice such as tea, water and souvenirs.
The best time to trek in Poon Hill would be in autumn and spring.
Of course, there are provisions for safety measures. Our guides are trained and medically certified. They use an oximeter to check your oxygen level and will assure that you are fit during the trek.
